North by Northeast opened in 2006 in a little building on North Williams Avenue as a partnership between Pastor Mary Overstreet Smith and Jill Ginsberg, a family physician. Over the past ten years we have grown and helped thousands of people keep their diabetes and blood pressure under control and avoid having a stroke or heart attack. You may have seen us at a variety of community events or at a neighborhood barber shop where we offer free blood pressure screenings. As Sharetta Butcher, our Community Care Director, says: “A lot of people don’t want to go to the doctor. What we hear often is, ‘They don’t care about us.’ But here at North by Northeast we do care, and our patients know it.”
